Just last Tuesday (February 22, 2011), a few of us youth members headed over to Richmond Ice Center and learned how to play a sport known as Broomball.

The game is played on ice in a skating rink, but instead of wearing skates we wear special shoes. The ball in play is much bigger compare to a hockey ball, and like the name of the game we were given “brooms” to control the ball.

We were taught some techniques, practiced a bit and actually had a decent scrimmage going. We all had a lot of fun, and everyone went home happy (and very tired).
